    Long ago the people never wore shoes until they reached the age of seventeen. It was also a custom for the old people to go barefooted. There was once an old man who lived in Carrawarde and he never wore shoes even in Winter time.
    Shoes are made and mended here by the Shoemakers. The trade is now dying away as the people buy more ready made shoes. Long ago the people had to walk a long distance to the market, to sell their eggs and
