    A terrible fever followed and hundreds of the young people emigrated to America, but most of them died on the way, and the bodies had to be thrown into the sea.
    In the Summer of 1847, the potatoes grew again. During the famine year, a million people died of hunger, another million left the country and all that remained were left weak and poor.
