  1. There are a great many forts near the school. There is one in Ballygommon, one in Ballyvary, one in Danganmore and one in Falfadda. It is said that the forts are connected by passages and they can be seen from each other.
    Most of the forts are a round shape and are encircled by a clay bank or hedge. There is a large fairy-hole in the fort in Falfadda. It is said that there are books and gold hidden in it.
