  1. A man was coming from a wake in the village of Laughtavary. As he was passing the Railway bridge, he heard a sound underneath. Thinking it was some poor beggar who knew nothing about the trains, and that he might sleep on the railway line, the man went back on to the line and when he reached it, he was amazed to see an old woman washing clothes.
    He looked around to see if there was anybody near. The place was deserted and when he looked again in the
