- There is a limekiln in Muckroe. It is round in shape and is built with stone. It is about 12 feet deep. There is a hole left in the side near the bottom through which to take out the lime. About twelve hundred of lime can be burned in this kiln. To burn a lime kiln lime stone and turf is required. It will take three cribs of turf to burn 12 hundred of lime.
