  1. There was an old school in Derrinea about sixty years ago. The teacher's name was Mr. Michael Harte. He lodged in Pat McNulty's house in Aughaliska. Owen Colgan and Canon Colgan went to school there. He was a first class teacher. He spoke English. The scholars paid him a sixpence a week. He was a young man about thirty years of age. He was a nice man of a dark complexion. He was a native of Aclare.
