- My grandmother told me that about ninety-nine years ago there was a big storm. It was called the Night of the Big Wind. It knocked stacks of oats and ricks of hay. It also brought the roofs of barns and houses and uprooted trees. People say Sara Hall was born on that night. It began in the evening. It was not over until eight o'clock in the morning. It was in the winter time.
