- The famine about the year 1848 was followed by a plague, from which many people died. In some houses they were all sick and when one died, the people of the house were too sick to go as far as the graveyard so they only buried the dead body in the garden. About a mile south from our school on the left hand side of the road, some people are buried.Transcribed by a member of our volunteer transcription project.
