- Long ago there was a man named Rory O'Higgins and he was a great runner. No man could beat him. He used to catch rabbits very quickly and was a splendid weight-thrower. On a Sunday evening a number of the neighbouring boys would gather in a field and try to beat him but none of them could come near his mark. This happened 40 years ago. This story was told to me by Michael McKewon, Aughaliska.Transcribed by a member of our volunteer transcription project.
