Long ago people named Saunders came year after year to Loughkeeran Pattern. They always had a great fire lighted and a pot of meat boiling on it. They had some horses. The boys used to all gather around those who came to perform stations and say "I'll mind your horse for a penny sir." The strangers had a meal at Saunder's Stall before starting for home. They don't come now at all.
