Local Cures

Colic:
Eat garlic raw, or boiled with milk, and drink.
Feurgorth:
Feurgorth was a sudden great hunger which usually came at night while asleep. A fistful of oatmeal eaten caused it to vanish.
Thrush:
The cure for thrush the old people had was to ask a child, who was born after its father died to breathe into the infant's mouth in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. This had to be repeated for three days.
