- The townland is called Clerhy (Cloirigh) meaning the stone place. Certainly it is a stony place. There are five sections - [?] Ballinamona, Mullagh, Derrybeg and Tooratsleive in it.
Ballinamona (Baile na Móna) is so called from the bog (móin) in it. Mullagh (Mullach) means the top of the hill. Derrybeg (Daire [?] beag) gets its name from a little oak wood which was in it.
Tooratsleive (Túr a; tsléibhe) means the [?] bleach green of the mountain- Collector
