- Up to the present day some of the old people remember the influential Landlord of this district who was very severe on his tenants. He lived quite near the Old castle of which I gave an account in the previous essay.
Joe Mór McDonnell was a very powerful man. He was a member of Parliament but only attended once for on that occasion he misconducted himself.
When the government put a certain Bill before the House which Joe Mór did not wish to be passed, he went up to the Minister's Bench(continues on next page)
