    There are many cures for the different diseases. The cure for the measles is to wash roots of nettles and put them in a vessell and let them simmer at the fire for about three or four hours. Then strain it and give the person the liquid to drink.
    The cure for the "Sty" on the eye is to point a gooseberry thorn three times at it.
    The cure for a cut on the sole of the foot is touch-paper. It is brown paper boiled along with alum and put a fresh piece of the paper on the sore every night until it is alright.
