village. The churn dash is moved up and down to churn the milk until the butter is made. Then the churn is rocked back and over in order to gather the butter.
When the churning is made the butter is taken out. It is placed in a wooden dish and it is salted. Some cold water is poured on the butter to make it hard. The butter milk is mostly used for wetting flour to make cakes. It is also drunk with potatoes and used in eating porridge and "currog".
