    Patrick. This church was on Mr Clarke's land. When the land was striped the people fenced off the ruins of this church. The people never tilled any of this land. It is owned by Michael Shryane, [Iselaun?].

  2. There is a bridge leading from Aughadeffin to Orlar in a boggy part of the country. It is called the Black Bridge. One night a man was coming from Orlar and as he came towards this bridge he saw a black object in the form of a sow before him. He was a very pious man and blessed himself and began to pray. He then in special words in Irish begged the animal to let him pass from all harm. No sooner were the words said than the sow moved slowly from the middle to the side
