  1. In my village there is an old mill of which little remains now. Only an old mill stone is still there ion the river bank. This mill was owned by a man named Pat McDonagh who was never called any name but Pat the miller. He ground and milled all kinds of corn and in this way he earned his livelihood. He made jokes with those he saw working hard and getting no money for it. He always hired a boy to do the outside work for him and when he saw people working hard he said "Musha God help ye poor hard working men". The people were very angry and promised never to go near him again but as there was no
