    cloaks mostly of a blue colour which had hoods of the same material fastened about the neck. Most women wore shawls and the girls wore them too, and everyone wore a white cap of which was fastened about the chin and which covered the whole head. Very few wore hats or bonnets as the people do now and on Sundays these caps were worn to Mass. The women wore elastic boots which could be pulled on without lacing.
