  1. In every village or parish nearly, there is a holy well. There is a holy well in the village of Carrowneden in the land of Patrick Killeen. There is an old church beside the well also. It is said that one stormy night night a piece of an old chapel in Aughamore was blown to were the well is and that is how the chapel came to the well. Every year people go to the well on Garland Sunday and say prayers there.
