  1. It is said that long ago a great race of giants lived in Ireland. Many of these giants had their dwelling on the hill of Ouite Ouide (These hills are near the school). At last there came a time when only three giants dwelt there. One evening as one of them slept under the shade of some trees a young man rode up to him and said to him that a giant from Scotland had challenged him to fight. The giant grew angry at this and told the man to send word for the giant. In a short time the giant arrived. Then the field where they were to fight was chosen. In a short time the two giants had begun to fight. They fought until the Scottish giant fled. The irich giant followed him but not able to catch him he became very angry taking up six huge Scottish stones and threw them after the
