  1. In the locality this is the way the feast of Saint Martin is observed.
    Some days before Saint Martin's day, which occurs on the eleventh of November, a fowl is killed and the blood is sprinkled in the four corners of the house.
    People believe in making this offering before the feast for they say that Saint Martin would not accept it after. People also believe that if they did not make this offering they would meet some terrible misfortune during the year. This spilling of blood is handed down to us from
