    The feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin is on the fifteenth of August and on this day there is a great annual pilgrimage to Knock.
    The reason for this is the Blessed Virgin with Saint Joseph and Saint John appeared to some people in Knock in August of the year eighteen seventy nine.
    Since the apparition people from all over the World visit Knock.
    Long ago people walked long distances on their bare feet and performed stations at Knock on their knees.
