  1. Saint Patrick is the patron saint of the district. He passed through Holywell. People go on a pilgrimage to Holywell once a year. Saint Patrick went across the fields from Holywell. Saint Patrick went to Kilvine. He knelt on a stone in Kilvine; the people there threw stones after him. People go on a pilgrimage to Holywell. The prayers that the people say are: Five our fathers and five hail Mary's. Always when people go there they leave something at the well. The people of Kilvine did not know where he went after he went through Kilvine. He left the track of his two knees on a stone in Rockfort and the two tracks of his knees are on that stone ever since.
