- There are four forges in the parish. The names of the blacksmiths that own them are, Michael Mullen, Denis Niland, Patrick Boyle, John McDonnell. Their forefathers were blacksmiths before them. The forges are thatched. The shape of the doors are square. There is only one hearth in each forge. The implements that the blacksmith uses are the hammer, the pincers, the sledge, the cutters, the dills, the rasps, the(continues on next page)
