  1. There were very few drownings or burnings in this district. One evening late a girl from Lisnaskea was coming home from her grandmothers who was living in Greenwood. The frost was out and there was ice on the water. She went back as far a Bekan Lake and began sliding. She did not go far in through the ice for a while. When she found it very hard around the edge she went in to the middle. Just then the ice broke and she was drowned before anyone knew. In the village of Cloonbook not far from where I live there were
