    An old custom of Irish people was to give names to fields, bushes, rivers and roads. On farms in this locality fields are know by the names. Nearly every field on our farm has a name. Cul i garrda is one name meaning back of the garden. Garrda an tobair is a field with a well in it. Garrda an ruis?is a field near a forge. Another field near the house is called Mag an luaghmhair. three fields which make up one big hill are called the Mollies. A stream flowing through the land is called Broó. Another stream bears
