  1. Long ago when people had no light they pulled rushes and peeled them and then they got tallow and steeped them in it. They left them up then to set, this was an old custom in every house. For soap the people used curds of milk and oatmeal.
    There was a man named Cormac Biesty who lived in Greenwood who was a noted basketmaker. He used to cut rods and leave them in a dry placed for a few months to season. Then he used to make baskets, cleaves
