  1. One great hero I heard of was John Lyons he was one of the men who fought against the land lords.
    He was a very strong man and also a very active man. There was a prize offered to see who was the strongest man in Ballyhaunis. One day in Ballyhaunis there were six hundred weights of oats left on the street and the one that lifted that and put it on an ass's back was reconed the strongest man. John Lyons took the bag of oats and he lifted it too high and let it fall
