  1. About one hundred and fifty years ago in the Penal Days when mass was not allowed to be celebrated in the churches all over Ireland the people had to hear mass on the hills and mountains sides. The people in this district had to attend mass in a place called b-arna an assreann which meant the gap of the mass. It is situated about one mile and a half from my school. Its townland is now known as Redpark. The exact spot where the mass used to be offered is situated on the side of a hill and there is an old
