  2. Long ago the priests had to say Mass in the lonely places because the priests were afraid of the English. If the priests were caught saying Mass they would be stopped by the soldiers. Long ago in the Penal days the priests could not say mass as they can now. During the Penal days the priests said Mass in John Morley's field in Kildara
