  1. Long ago the priests had to say Mass in very lonely places because on that time because if the English soldiers caught them they them would put them to death. The priests were very much afraid and they would say Mass in very lonely fields. There is a field in John Morleys land and it is supposed that there is a tree growing near where Mass was said. Long ago the priests were not alowed to say Mass as they can now. In the olden times the priests used to say Mass out in the open air because they had churches the soldiers would catch them. The people had very hard times in the Penal Days.
