    wanted. They wore short coats but it was mostly shawls they wore. They wore white caps with gathers in the front of them and there were pieces down over their ears and there used to be a tape on them and they tied that tape under their chin. They wore shoes called lastics, they were called that name because they were closed up all the way and there were elastics at the two ankles and they would draw them out where the elastic was in order to get them on.
