Shops were not very common in the district long ago. Most of the shops were in the towns. The people had to go to the nearest town to make purchases. Buying and selling was carried on after mass and is practiced now also.
Money was not alwas given for goods because the people had not much money but labour was given instead and sometimes nothing was given. There are not any days considered unlucky. The markets were held in the towns long ago. Some coins are gone out of use now. The names of the various coins are a four-penny bit, a four shilling piece, a fiveshilling piece, a
