  1. (continued from previous page)
journey and he saw a woman with a lighted candle looking for two crowns in the snow.
The night was drawing near, and the man went into a house where there lived a lonely woman. The woman asked the man who he was, and he said that he was a spirit of next world.
The woman said "Did you see our Paddy there," and he said he did. The woman asked if that place was cold, and being told that it was, she got an old coat and a bottle of whiskey for the man to bring to Paddy. The man turned to go home to his wife for he indeed found three people as foolish as she was.
