  1. Formerly bread was made from wheat and oats. Wheat was sown locally and brought to Judges in Clooncrim from which flour and whole meal was made. The old people of my district remember grind stones. They were used for grinding oats and wheat. The different kinds of bread are oaten cake potato cake and boxty. Oaten cake was made with oat meal and water and it was baked in front of the fire against a flag or a kettle. Potato cake was made with mashed potatoes and, flour and
