  1. There are a lot of different beliefs connected with churning in our district. For days previous to churning the housewife gathers the cream in a crock. When a sufficient quantity is gathered the housewife cleans the churn and prepares for churning. She puts the cream into the churn and then places the cross and the lid is then screwed on.
