Once upon a time there was a widow's son whose father had died when he was seven years old. When the boy was eighteen he told his mother that he was going to seek his fortune and he set off. When he had gone a little distance he met a man. This man asked him if he was going to kill the three giants and he advised Jack not to go to the giant's castle because the giants would kill him.
