    Once upon a time there was a widow who had only one son and he was very lazy.

    it, on the side of the road. He was on the point of coming down from it when he saw two giants coming towards him. They sat down to break stones. He took a nut and flung it with all his might at one giant's head. This giant said to the other, "If you strike me again I will kill you." The boy flung another nut at the same giant, who, taking his hammer, struck with all his might and killed the other giant. The boy flung again at the giant, and the giant, looking up said,"Come down or I will pull you down." The boy flung down his stick and told the giant to read what was on it. When the giant had read it he thought "This must be a great man," so he took him home to his mother who was a witch. She told her son to give
    two tests to the boy and if he was
    not able to do them to kill him. The first feat was to see which of them was the stronger, so the
