  2. Long ago before the mowing machines were made the people cut all their hay with scythes. Now they cut it with machines. At this time there was a man named Murphy and he was a great "spealaoóin". It is said that he cut an acre of hay each day. He only got three or four shillings for every acre he cut. He worked very hard each day
