  1. The townland in which I live in is called Blessington. It is in the parish and barony of Kilmaine. Once upon a time there was a man in our garden called Blessing. One day a man was passing by and he called it Blessington.
    There were ten houses in the village long ago. Today there are only six. The houses were thatched and small; today they are slated and big.
