  1. There are a lot of weeds and herbs growing in this district.
    They are called Thistles, nettles, Braíste, chicken - weed, and scutch. There is also another one called "Bliosgán."
    The scutch is supposed to be the worst of all the weeds. It is very hard to banish it from (if ) a field if it was growing in it. The thistle is bad for the land.
    The nettle is used for turkeys. It has to be boiled and mixed with Indian - meal - oat-meal, and bread - crumbs. Long ago they were used for vegetables.
    The bráiste is a big, yellow - weed. It grows in potatoes, oats, and wheat. It destroys the land,
