- (continued from previous page)the fairies would steal the butter off the middle. If any one came in to the house while a churning was being made that person had to make some of the churning for fear they would bring the butter in their clothes in them when they were going.
Another superstition was if any man came to the door while a churning was been made and if he wanted any implement made of iron he would be forbidden by the woman of the house to take that implement until the churning was made, as they believed that there was something in the iron which took away the butter from the milk.- Collector
