  1. The people say that there lives a wee man called a Lepreacán. He is supposed to live in a Rath or Mound or some very lonly place. They say he is only a foot in height. He wears a red cap, a red jacket and blue trousers. He wears curious shoes, which are turned up in front.
    He makes his shoes himself. It is also said he makes shoes for all the fairies. He comes out at twelve o’ clock every night making shoes. He sits under a mushroom. He has a pot of gold hidden somewhere.
    If you want to get this gold you must be around the Rath at twelve o’ clock at night.
