  1. The Irish for Roxboro is "Ceara clochar". Cearra clochar means the convent made of rocks. Long ago there was an old convent in Roxboro.
    It was built with big rocks. The ruins of it are to be seen to day. it is about three and a half miles north of Ballinrobe.
