  1. Long years ago a giant lived in a big castle near the sea coast. He was of a huge size more than double the size of any man.
    All the people were afraid of him. He used to bring away their horses, cattle and also their sheep. He called any man or woman or child whom he caught. Near the foot of the hill upon which the giants castle stood there lived a small farmer. He had a brave son called Jack. They were made poor by the cruel giant. So at last Jack made up his mind to kill the giant.
    One morning Jack set out to kill the giant. He brought a spade and a hatched from his uncle's home.
