  1. These are many basket makers in my district in the townland of Knocknadrimna. This is the way they are made. They used to stick rods in the ground in a square. Then he starts to weave with the two rods. When it is about a foot high he starts to weave a double row. Then he makes the "cliathóg". He takes the "cliathóg" from the ground and he makes the "gads" with his two weak rods. Then he places the "cliathóg" on the bottom of the basket. Then he gets a stick called the "sloidín".Then he pulls his basket from the ground and cuts the end rods within two inches of the basket. The basket makers of my
