  1. Rising in the morning.
    The light of day to night succeeds;
    We therefore meekly pray,
    Oh! God, in all our words and deeds,
    keep us from harm this day.
    Making a fire.
    God of this blessed light,
    Near me shining.
    On the wide way of the hearth,
    I go unrepining.
    Going into a chapel.
    I am very, very, sorry,
    To have given Thee such pain.
    Do forgive, and bless, and help me,
    That I may not sin again.
