It is an unlucky omen to walk under a ladder. It is a sign you will be hanged. If a wife loses her wedding ring, it is an omen that she will lose her husband’s affection. If your show lace opens it is sure omen that someone is thinking of you. If a person’s teeth are far apart, it is a sure sign that that person will be rich. To throw an old shoe after any person when you wish him to succeed in what he is going about is a lucky omen.
If a needle sticks in the floor, it is a sign that you will receive a letter. To dream of seeing a coffin is a very bad omen. It means a downward turn in your affairs. To see a white rat is an omen that you will have a great fortune. An ox or cow breaking into a garden is an omen of good fortune. A kitten coming to a house is a lucky omen. Of a strange dog follows you, it is a sign of good luck. The whining of a favorite dog is a sign of approaching calamity to the family, to which it belongs.
You will meet misfortune if you start on a journey and return for something you forgot, unless you sit down for a minute, before you go out again. It is a very lucky omen to fins a horseshow, and all the more luck(continues on next page)
