   there was no man on his property able to do it. This same man had eighteen sons and three daughters. All his sons died, but the youngest lived until he was eighteen years of age.
   Before he died, he was able to run faster on a single stone wall, and it falling after him, than any other man could run on the ground.

   Sleeker Higgins, who lived in the gate lodge in Dalgan, near the far entrance, never missed the races of Galway for fifty-one years.
   He always walked from Shrule to the race-course, about twenty Irish miles, He lived until he was over ninety years of age, and he had a beautiful, long, white flowing beard.
   Michael Moughan, of Ramolin, was a famous storyteller. He was also a good cobbler, and the neighbours used to bring in their shoes to be mended while they listened to his stories. In payment they used to give him a day working on his bit of land. He was a great swimmer. He often swam Lough Kille, in and out, in an hour.
   In the old graveyard in Shrule, there is an old priest's grave, over which is a flat stone and the name of the priest was "Martin Luther"
