All that love the shamrock was drawn or near,
This gallant ship that lately sailed away.
On the 17th of April it left old Ireland's shore,
and on the 22nd of May it landed safe in America.
Seven of those Irish boys their hearts stood stout and bold.
And with those that had friends they would not be controlled,
As soon as they landed they filled their bumbers(?) and praised Paddy's land.
Seven of those Irish boys were walking up Garvey St.
And a Yankee gentleman they happened for to meet
He said he'd give them employment in a brick yard near the town,
And contented their names he did take down.
He brought them into an ale house, he called for drink go leor,
Such an invitation they never got before,
When he saw them drunk to them he did say, -"Ye are listed on the soldiers while ye depend on America."They looked at one another and one those heros said, "Its not to list in the soldiers we(continues on next page)- Informant
